-DR. JULIE LYNCH-SASSON
Sasson Chiropractic is my 2nd chiropractic clinic after switching coasts almost a decade ago to raise our kids in the Lowcountry, where life is “better by the sea”.
Dr. Julie’s journey to chiropractic was not direct. After experiencing unrelenting headaches including grinding her teeth which lead to TMJ issues from work-related stress along with other injuries from sports growing up, she was encouraged to see a chiropractor who had also trained in Neuro Emotional Technique (NET).
Prior to this she thought that chiropractic was “only for back pain” and really did not know the importance of the connection between the biomechanics of the spine to the nervous system to overall health and wellness nor that one would not need to be referred to see a chiropractor. Dr. Julie also learned that emotions (stressors) are physiologically-based!
Dr. Julie's own experience with the effectiveness of chiropractic adjustments, and incorporating Neuro Emotional Technique's model of covering all four-bases, was the catalyst for ultimately pursuing a career in Chiropractic.
She enjoys providing preventative and corrective chiropractic care for all ages along with NET and Functional Nutrition (aka Medicine).
Dr. Julie Lynch-Sasson, DC is from the San Francisco Bay Area and graduated with a BS recreation administration/hospitality, and BA in humanities, Spanish, with a minor in communications from CSU, Chico. After graduation, she interned for Disneyland but returned to the Bay Area where she found herself immersed in the birth of the dot.com and all the stresses of a tech-focused life.
During this time, she helped to launch several companies and a nonprofit pilot computer camp along with Stanford University’s computer department. The program was called the Backyard Project whose mission was to encourage high school girls to pursue careers in math and science, especially computer science. While at the Backyard Project, Dr. Julie was interviewed for the book and included in Mindset: The New Psychology of Success by Carol S. Dweck, PhD.
While still working in tech and pursuing her pre-med requirements, Dr. Julie was invited to join the board of the ONE Research Foundation for NET as the treasurer and worked with the developers, Drs. Walker, and the global research team after being invited to attend an NET basic seminar.
Dr. Julie graduated Magna Cum Laude from Life Chiropractic College West in Hayward, CA and immediately opened her first clinic, Chiropractic Health Institute. A focus at CHI was on women's pregnancy journey and children along with NET. Dr. Julie became Webster Certified and joined the International Chiropractic Pediatrics Association (ICPA) because she may have learned about textbook pregnancy during school, but her own experience with birthing three children (hospital C-section, a no drugs VBAC homebirth transfer to hospital without complication and a waterbirth at home) gave her greater insight into the needs of women.
Dr. Julie also served on the board for Bay Area Birth Information (BABI) group, an all-volunteer nonprofit of birthing professionals in the South Bay Area, CA, whom she was introduced to by both her midwife and doula. Prior to this Dr. Julie had not really understood all the options for women. Additionally, Dr. Julie taught anatomy and physiology at Patten University for students pursuing careers in all areas of healthcare.
In 2015, after visiting her oldest brother, and his soon-to-be wife, here in Charleston, they decided to switch coasts to raise their three kids.
The Sasson Family loves to swim, hike, run, fish and boat, and all volunteer at Seacoast Church. Dr. Julie has coached many MPRD sports team including soccer, softball and basketball. The Sasson kids attend CCSD schools and are involved in clubs, sports and music (choir, band and orchestra). Dr. Julie’s favorite place is the beach and loves to salsa dance with her husband.
She bilingual in Spanish and studied in at La Complutense de Madrid, Spain.
Her husband is Benji Sasson. He leads an international project management team, is a serial entrepreneur and has launched many titles in the video gaming world. He was born in South Africa and grew up in Australia and England which is why he has that funny accent!
